Indianapolis, Ind. – October 23, 2008 – ANGEL® Learning, a leading provider of enterprise eLearning software and services, today announced it is showcasing clients who use the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) to deliver online learning at the North American Council for Online Learning’s (NACOL) 2008 Virtual School Symposium (VSS) in Glendale, Arizona. Clients that will be spotlighted in the ANGEL Learning exhibit include NACOL members:

Each of these ANGEL community members and many others are meeting their goal of extending the school curriculum using the ANGEL LMS.

Credenda uses the ANGEL LMS to provide synchronous instruction to meet needs that cannot be met in local communities. Vince Hill, Credenda Virtual High School principal, points to ANGEL features that focus on student success as a key factor in Credenda’s decision to adopt the ANGEL LMS. “The awareness ANGEL provides students of their class performance relative to other students’ performance is huge in terms of student success,” says Hill.

The value ANGEL provides was especially important to Indiana Virtual Academy director Fred Sagester, Ed.D. “As a relatively new organization to online learning (since 2003), and one that has been funded through grants, it is imperative that we get the most of the monies we have. Following a thorough investigation of ANGEL, it was an easy decision to make the change to this LMS,” Sagester reports. Indiana Virtual Academy classes meet the needs of students who are looking for specialized or advanced classes, need to recover credits, want to take classes not offered at their local schools, want to accelerate their course of study, and homebound students.

Internet Academy (IA), the State of Washington’s first online public school, learned about ANGEL at the 2007 Virtual School Symposium. “We were exploring other systems when we found ANGEL,” says Ron Mayberry, Internet Academy principal. “We chose ANGEL because ANGEL provided the most features at the best price, and the tools ANGEL provides to align State standards to class curriculum, track student progress, automate communications based on progress, and report results will help us meet State requirements.” IA offers core and elective courses that provide students and families’ flexibility to meet their individual needs.
The stories of these ANGEL virtual school adoptions and case studies highlighting the variety of ways schools and districts are impacting teaching and learning with the ANGEL LMS are available at the ANGEL Learning exhibit, #24, at VSS 2008 and online at http://www.angellearning.com/community/community_profiles.html.
