Vision for 21st Century: WashingtonOnline Moves Forward with ANGEL
For Immediate Release - Sept. 3, 2008
Indianapolis, Ind. – September 3, 2008 – ANGEL® Learning, a leading provider of enterprise eLearning software and services, today announced that the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges has licensed the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) to deliver online courses available through WashingtonOnline (WAOL).
A model of statewide collaboration, WashingtonOnline provides a platform for colleges to share course content, open textbooks, and online course enrollments so students enrolled in one college can take online classes offered by another. Colleges can also use the WAOL platform to support their own online, hybrid, and web-enhanced classrooms, build ePortfolios, and collaborate through online webinars.
“We are thrilled about our new partnership with ANGEL Learning,” said Cable Green, eLearning director for the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. “Their Learning and ePortfolio systems allow us to provide online learning spaces where students and faculty can share ideas and learn together.”
WAOL also provides 24/7 technical support and professional development for faculty and staff using ANGEL teaching and learning tools.
“The collaborative spirit of Washington State’s educational entities clearly illustrates that making quality instruction available to all students is their first priority,” said Christopher Clapp, president and CEO of ANGEL Learning. “We’re very pleased the Washington vision for online learning includes ANGEL, and we welcome the opportunity to be a part of the state’s online teaching and learning initiative.”
