Real-Time Feedback Now Available in the Live Classroom through ANGEL LMS and eInstruction Integration

For Immediate Release - May 21, 2008

Cincinnati, Ohio and Denton, Tex . – May 21, 2008 – ANGEL® Learning, recognized innovator of course management software and services, and eInstruction, pioneer of the leading student response system in education, today announced and demonstrated the anticipated integration of eInstruction’s Classroom Performance System (CPS) and the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS). The demonstration was one of the featured announcements at this year’s ANGEL User Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.

“With this integration, instructors will finally be able to take attendance, grade tests or quizzes and post grades all in one place with absolute ease," said eInstruction product manager, William Johnson. "The strength of the two technologies complement each other brilliantly, so the combination made perfect sense."

“We are always looking for ways to improve the ANGEL customer experience, and the integration of eInstruction’s CPS system provides a simple but powerful way to achieve live classroom feedback that’s recorded in the ANGEL system,” said Ray Henderson, chief products officer, ANGEL Learning. “eInstruction has built a strong reputation for supporting their customers in the field, and we look forward to releasing an integration to cooperatively meet customers’ needs.”

CPS integration with the ANGEL LMS launches real-time student feedback to the ANGEL LMS gradebook. The integration of ANGEL and CPS is a natural fit between the two products as instructors can now use their ANGEL student information to provide their “clicker roster” to CPS with only a few clicks of a mouse.  There’s no longer a need for teachers to import or export data via Excel and for students to be manually matched to pads. Instructors can now upload student response data from CPS to the ANGEL LMS, providing a seamless method to grade assessment items and post grades to the ANGEL account.

In addition, the integration provides students a single place to register their response pads with a unique “pay as you go model” saving students both time and money.

The inherent openness of the ANGEL system enables seamless integrations with complementing technologies leveraging core ANGEL functionality and adding value to ANGEL adoptions. ANGEL Learning is dedicated to partnering with leading providers of technologies that complement the ANGEL LMS to provide community members superior teaching and learning experiences.

About eInstruction

eInstruction pioneered the first student response system for the education market during the 1980s. Its Classroom Performance System (CPS) provides instructors and students with real-time feedback on comprehension during instruction. Today CPS remains the leading student response system in education, being used with over 1.5 million students in more than 60,000 K-12 classrooms and over 400,000 students in more than 400 colleges and universities.

In 2006, eInstruction acquired FSCreations and integrated its ExamView® and Learning Series software and content platforms so instructors can seamlessly use publisher and proprietary question banks in lesson plans, quizzes and tests with eInstruction technology. The result is an integrated system for instruction and assessment with real-time feedback.
