ANGEL Learning Welcomes Record-Setting Crowd of Over 600 Attendees to Annual User Conference
Cincinnati, Ohio – May 20, 2008 – ANGEL® Learning, recognized innovator of enterprise course management software and services, last night opened its sixth annual ANGEL User Conference by welcoming the largest number of ANGEL users in conference history. Registered attendees increased by more than 40% over the prior record, which was established last year and reflects the collaborative spirit of the ANGEL user community and the community’s rapid growth. A significant increase in the number K-12 educators attending the conference is representative of the quickly growing ANGEL K-12 community.
“These record attendance numbers attest to the level of engagement of the ANGEL user community,” said Christopher Clapp, president and CEO, ANGEL Learning. “From its inception, the ANGEL User Conference has been a customer-driven event. I’m happy that people continue to feel the conference is so valuable, even as our user community has grown rapidly.”
Pre-conference activities found over half of the main conference attendees providing product development direction in focus groups, participating in ANGEL usability studies, attending a variety of training workshops and gathering in regional groups to plan inaugural Regional ANGEL User Group meetings.
The conference officially kicked-off at an evening reception hosted by ANGEL Alliance Partners: Aventa Learning, Cengage Learning, Dell, eInstruction, Elluminate, Elsevier, Emantras, F5, Florida Virtual School Global Services, McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions, Microsoft, Pearson Learning Solutions, Presidium Learning, Respondus, SoftChalk, Tegrity and Wimba.
The two-day conference features community-led sessions in higher education and K-12 Teaching and Learning, ANGEL Administration, Support and Change Management, and Executive and Program Leadership. Additional tracks feature presentations by ANGEL partners and major educational publishers. Sessions led by ANGEL team members detail the newly released ANGEL LMS 7.3. These sessions cover ANGEL LMS 7.3 features for higher education and K-12, take system administrators “Under ANGEL’s Hood” and impart support how-to’s from ANGEL’s award-winning support team.
Conference attendees will also be the first to preview integration initiatives between the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) and the Elluminate Live!® virtual classroom environment and the ANGEL LMS and eInstruction’s Classroom Performance System. ANGEL also announced the availability of three new service offerings for self-hosted customers: System Review, Managed Upgrade Service and Infrastructure Design and Installation.
Winners of ANGEL Impact Awards for Exemplary ANGEL Course and Programs will be announced at a Customer Recognition Reception at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark tonight.
The conference closes Wednesday, May 21 with ANGEL’s traditional Customer Feedback Session where the user community will provide the ANGEL executive team public input into future product development. A cornerstone of the conference, the session is a hallmark of the collaborative ANGEL approach.
