8th ACA College Chooses ANGEL for eLearning

For Immediate Release - March 20, 2007

Alderson-Broaddus College joins league of Appalachian College Association member colleges that switched to the ANGEL Learning Management Suite to provide online learning.

Indianapolis, Ind. – Mar. 20, 2007 – ANGEL® Learning, recognized innovator of enterprise elearning software and services, today announced that the number of Appalachian College Association (ACA) member institutions that have adopted ANGEL LMS to provide elearning has climbed to eight. One college adopted ANGEL as its first LMS. Seven of the institutions switched to ANGEL from competing systems.

ACA member colleges that have adopted ANGEL are:

  • Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, West Virginia
  • Emory & Henry College, Emory, Virginia
  • Ferrum College, Ferrum, Virginia
  • Hiwassee College, Madisonville, Tennessee
  • Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee
  • Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, Kentucky
  • Milligan College, Milligan College, Tennessee
  • West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, West Virginia

The institutions are private, two- and four-year liberal arts colleges and universities spread across the central Appalachian Mountains. Individually and collectively, as ACA members, they provide higher education and related services to the people of Appalachia.

“I recommend ANGEL to other academic institutions without hesitation,” said Dr. Christine Stinson, associate professor of accounting and business and director of instructional design and technology, Ferrum College. “ANGEL has won high praise from our faculty, staff and students. It is easy to learn and use. ANGEL’s flexibility allows us tailor the system to our specific needs. ANGEL’s hosting and technical support are outstanding. And, ANGEL solicits advice from customers for product improvements. Ferrum College actively participates in ANGEL working groups to help design features we’ll use in future versions of ANGEL.”

Institutions that switch to ANGEL cite similar reasons for choosing ANGEL over their previous providers: greater usability, higher value and ANGEL Learning’s commitment to exceptional customer service and long-term relationships.

“We appreciate the challenges our customers face when switching to a new LMS and applaud their leadership in the education community,” said Candice Roberts, vice president sales, ANGEL Learning. “We are excited about ANGEL’s tremendous growth in both higher education and K-12.  We understand that our success is dependent on our ability to deliver value to institutions, instructors and students, and we keep a laser focus on doing just that.”
