Program Description

The Sinclair Community College Web Course Development Team’s (WCDT) smart strategies and savvy use of ANGEL capabilities enabled them to (1) develop high-quality, instructionally sound, easy-to-use courses at a very fast pace; (2) brand online courses with a professional look and feel, incorporate best practices in online education and reduce time faculty spent on issues peripheral to instruction; (3) enrich classroom courses with the interactive, multimedia materials developed for online courses; (4) accomplish all their objectives in less time, at a lower cost; and, (5) earned the team a 2007 ANGEL IMPACT Award.

To date some of the results of the WCDT savvy ANGEL implementation include: a success rate for online students equal to or better than the success rate of students in traditional classes, faster course development with savings of as much as $50,000 per course, new online faculty ramping up more quickly, national recognition for Excellence in Distance Learning and, most importantly, improved satisfaction and glowing comments from faculty and students.
